((This continues from the Spies, Rumors, and Bad Guys Oh My! Thread))
Rune had called together his court to explain the situation at hand, had written to Rhys, had put up the front to seem diplomatic and reasonable but behind it all was the beast rising inside wanting revenge, wanting to reek havoc for the affront to his honor. The source of his pain was Rhys and so Rhys would suffer.
In the dark of the night when the land lay still Rune snuck into the desert sands of the Redstone Plains to the place where an old friend lay. He crept through the mines deep below to a bed of golden treasure upon which lay a giant magnificent Scarlet Beast.
"Volgaris it seems trouble has brewed and threatens your land and home, it comes from the seas. They wish to form an army and invade, they wish to take your gold and claim it for their own. In all my years as king I have kept to our agreement and have honored our treaties, my men do not touch your mines or those of the known dragon horde and in exchange you have lead us to prosper and to knew mines and not devoured my people. Yet I fear this approaching storm. I think it would be for the best for all of us if a storm of dragons were to cut off any route of trade or preparations being made for this war, keep their supplies from coming. As always I shall pay handsomely to your nest if you will do me the honor old honored one."
The old wyrm barely lifted an eye or head to acknowledge the king even as he addressed the dragon unlike most other creatures. Without even an answer Rune left the lair. But it mattered not as soon a storm of dragons left into the night. They swooped in on Lothrei and burned several ports and knocked debris in the way of trade routes to the spire and other parts of Andeloria. Without sound they came and then left. Without trace to their existence they razed parts of Rhys kingdom and left to return to their nest.
Rune would have to sit and wait to hear word, but it gave time to make sure his army was armed tooth and nail and it would give time for the building of the wall.
