A less experienced Sailor would have enjoyed the calmness of the sea, the moon shimmering off it’s surface as if it were sunlight and the water glass… the sea was calm, and the moon was full in the sky illuminating the landscape for as far as the eye could see on any given side water stretched out making a man feel small in comparison.
The captain of this ship knew better, as he stood chewing the stub of a worn and weathered pipe that hadn’t been lit in who knew how long… beady green eyes half glazed from rum watched the water as if at any moment a sea monster would appear and swallow them all whole… even the fish seemed too calm to bite for those who took leisure fishing off the side of the boat…
The calm before the storm...
Khaalida and Axenus spent their time as lovers were ought to do, but both grew impatient with the slow moving war. Rune had built his wall… as if that could stop them… he blamed his brother for the rumors… and Cass did what she did best.. she hid herself away with the babe.
Khaalida wasn’t having any of it… a spell wove on the whisper of moonlight… Cass would find her dreams invaded by her dead son and the child that replaced him, this would not end until the child Khaalida had given back to her was revealed to the lands…
A note was left for her Priestess… Neiv was to go to the capital and speak to Cass about the babe… to ensure his wellbeing. This would be Cass’s last chance…
Axenus cleaned up his ocean easily and it wasn’t farfetched to say the God had a soft spot for Rhys, but he had remained out of it… for now. The oceans swirled in spots… but the God seemed almost absent.
Rhea remained in the forest, but sent her heart with Luo in hopes that he could stop this foolish war before everything was destroyed. Meanwhile the forests flourished with the new spring.
Caphis spent his time much like any child… Sunlight played upon the lands when the day ruled the moment and when the sun sank below the horizon he slept. What his twin did was little of his concern, in fact, he wanted no part of it… but with the lands at war he made sure to keep tabs on everything going on.
Dayus watched from the sky as he always did… if the people of the lands paid any attention to the skies they would sometime hear a tune being sung from somewhere unseen high above, though he never spoke to anyone he was there to those who prayed to him.
